James MacHaffie is the founder of the geopolitical risk firm JKM Intel Solutions, specializing in Indo-Pacific security issues. Prior to that, Dr. MacHaffie worked for over fifteen years as an international relations specialist for the U.S. Government, academia, think tanks, and in private industry.
He is the author of The Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Conflict De-escalation: Trust Building and Interstate Rivalries (Routledge, 2023), as well as many articles in academic journals. He holds a PhD in international relations from the University of Leicester.
