Asia-Pacific Region
The Asia-Pacific is a dynamic region that spans from the steppes of Central Asia to the Pacific ocean. It encompasses a variety of cultures and an eclectic range of economic activity, home to almost sixty percent of the word’s population. Opportunities abound here, but so do risks.
We define the region into four major sub-regions.
- Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan
- South Asia: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
- Southeast Asia: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vietnam
- East Asia-Pacific: Australia, China, Japan, N. Korea, S. Korea, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Russia
To help you navigate this region we provide in-depth analysis of regional geopolitics, on a weekly basis, that measures the impact on your business. We also provide country reports for specific key countries, including economic forecasts.
We offer the following services: related to the Asia-Pacific region overall
Country Reports
We offer detailed PMESII reports (Political, Military, Economic, Socioeconomic, Information, and Infrastructure) for key in-region countries. These can be combined reports, or separate for each element. We define the political element as national security decision-making capabilities, political structure, and risks associated with election violence, corruption, and non-state armed groups, if any, in country. We define the economic element for a country as: natural resource capabilities, economic decision-making structure, and risks associated with economic growth, inflation, unemployment, debt, and the country’s currency. We define information as a state”s media environment, cyber capability, and intelligence apparatus. The countries we currently offer detailed analysis on include: Kazakhstan, India, Indonesia, Singapore, China, Russia, and Japan. We also offer reports on other countries on an ad hoc basis.
Regional Reports
We offer detailed monthly regional overviews of the Central, South, Southeast, and East Asian regions. For regional reports we give in-depth analysis to transnational, and trans-border issues such as: terrorism, organized crime, interstate and civil wars, environmental, energy, and health security. We look at both violent and non-violent non-state actors and assess their impact on the region. We then map the results to derive priority risks. These risks are noted in reports that are available on a monthly and ad hoc basis.
